Sailing Adventures- The Begining

The long held dream of Terry's and mine to own a yacht again and embark on sailing adventures around Australia and the  Pacific Rim is finally becoming very real.  Purchased a Beneteau Oceanis 44  yacht in May 2014 after 2 years of searching and procrastination.

With a big leap of faith, we embraced, albeit with nervous anticipation, our new yacht and our commitment to the dream.
Both of us having heavy work commitments and little spare time we began the arduous and frustrating task of getting this yacht into in good working order for our future adventures.
We discovered more work required on this yacht than we had anticipated  but nothing that time and money could not fix.

Lifestyle changes for me to get my health in order resulted in my resignation from my much loved workplace O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat.  A month has past from leaving my position in the company and the personal challenges in adjusting to semi retirement has been outweighed buy the excitement of new challenges that lay ahead.
My focus is shifting to my core creative passions of food and art, revitalising my health and planning our adventures in sailing.
Our first shake down cruise will be in mid July for a month sailing the Queensland coast to Whitsundays and back to Gold Coast.
Much to do over the next 6 weeks including a renaming of the yacht  to
"Sens de la Vie"  (The meaning of Life), all of which will involve support from family & friends, copious amounts of champagne and good food.
